Hi Folks, It’s time to announce our first event of 2024.
We’re delighted that Jack Chellman has agreed to come to speak on James Joyce. The online event will take place on Wednesday, January 17th 2024 at 1930.
Jack Chellman is a Marshall Scholar and climate campaigner with a background in LGBTQ+ advocacy. He wrote his undergraduate thesis on feminism and Finnegans Wake and presented that work at the 2019 North American James Joyce Symposium in Mexico City, Mexico. He served as President of the Queer Student Union at the University of Virginia and co-founded the university’s first LGBTQ+ literary magazine.
Since moving to London, Jack has led two Joyce reading groups through the London Irish Centre, the Irish Cultural Centre and the Camden Council covering Ulysses in 2022 and Finnegans Wake in 2023. His reading groups are sought after for their lively full-blooded embrace of the challenge of Joyce’s prose.
Audience participation is always welcome at our events. As always, we strive to ensure that our events are a safe space for our LGBTQ community and friends. To do this, we ask that you register for the event beforehand. You can read our privacy policy here.
