Marking 10 years since the legalisation of same sex marriage in Ireland, Irish Film & TV UK (IFTUK) introduces it’s first Pride film festival, supported by Screen Ireland. Hosted in partnership with the London Irish LGBT Network , the Century Club and Peccadillo Pictures, this event is free to attend and will be held at the exclusive Century Club in Shaftesbury Avenue.

As the UK falls to its lowest ever position on the ‘Annual Rainbow Map’ – ranking European countries laws and policies affecting LGBTQ+ people – it is more important than ever that we embolden and uplift creative projects that champion LGBTQ+ artists.

Online Event with Dr Patrick McDonagh: Gay and Lesbian Activism In Ireland

For Pride Month, we wanted to ensure that we had an online event that would be of interest to all our members and their friends. As they say, to know where you’re going, you have to know where you’ve come from.

That’s why we’re delighted to announce that author of ‘Gay and Lesbian Activism in the Republic of Ireland 1973-93‘, Dr Patrick McDonagh, will join us to chat about ‘Dr. Patrick McDonagh author of ‘Gay and Lesbian Activism in the Republic of Ireland’, will discuss The Rise of Pride in Ireland in 70s & 80s’ on June 21st at 8pm.
